No plankton = No life in the ocean; Happy World Oceans Day!

BBC have teamed up with the SpongeBob SquarePants and put together a lovely presentation on what plankton has done for us. Plankton are microscopic organisms that float freely with oceanic currents and in other bodies of water. We know that there exists a plethora of creatures in the ocean that covers two-thirds of earth surface, but the one that can barely be seen by naked eye is the most important them of all. Plankton are a critically important food source. Plankton is the foundation of the ocean food web. Without plankton the ocean would be a barren wasteland, it’s as simple as that! Remember 50% of the oxygen that goes into our lung is produced by plankton. Time we realized how important even the smallest creature can be in our lives!
