Ten really ridiculous projects on Kickstarter that people actually supported

Kickstarter is an amazing platform to get funding for your projects. Often really good projects and products come up, but sometimes you can see stupid ass ideas over there and people actually paying to support those. Here in today’s article we will see a few really ridiculous Kickstarter campaigns.

  1. Lionel Richie’s Head
Lionel Inflatable Balloon

I really don’t know what the team behind this campaign was expecting. And to expect people would actually support it and pay them money is kinda ridiculous, after all its a campaign which said they would create a giant inflatable sculpture of Lionel Richie’s Head. But guess what, people supported it and 211 people backed it up and paying £8,016.

2. Baba Invisible Panties

Another really stupid idea. Why stupid? for on thing, let me just say it looks ridiculously ugly. come on, have you seen this thing? Anyway unlike the Lionel Richie’s Head campaign, the team behind this campaign weren’t so lucky. Only 6 people backed it ending up the team getting just $130.

3. Pirate Pancake Griddle

Now unlike the previous two things this one is not a stupid product, but the idea of putting it up for campaign on Kickstarter was really ingenious. Why not make some money on the side right? After all its just a griddle. Anyway the creators manged to get $18,633 from 200 backers.

4. Kurt Braunohler’s Cloud Project

By far this is one of the most stupid Kickstarter campaigns I have seen so far. The creator of this campaign says, if he gets backed up, he will hire a man to write stupid things with clouds in the sky. See, his aim was to write stupid things in the sky, I mean what a waste of money. I don’t know what people were thinking when backed up this project. It got funded by 257 backers which raised $6,820 in total.

5. Miley F*cking Cyrus Shirts

Seriously, why does even one need funding for this one. You could go to a t shirt printing business and give whatever you want as a picture and they would print it for you. You know whats more stupid here? The people who paid for this project. Good thing he was asking for $25. Anyway he got funded and reached his goal.

6. Watermelon Straps / Holder

The project creator says he had a really hard time carrying a water melon because his plastic bag couldn’t fit it properly. What an inconvenience right? I don’t know why he didn’t think of buying a bigger plastic bag. And the ridiculous part is not that, its how he needs $25,000 to make this project a reality. I mean why on earth one would need $25,000 to create a water melon strap? Needless to say the campaign was not successful.

7. Sexiest smartphone charger

Whats wrong with a sexy smartphone charger you might ask. But just seeing the above picture you will realize how ridiculous the whole thing looks. I don’t know why anyone would want this in their home.

Weird iPhone chargerNow wait until you see how the plug works.

8. Anti-Zombie-Soap

Do I have to write anything about it? I mean the name itself is enough to know how ridiculous the whole campaign is. The guy is planning to make zombie themed soaps and he says he has been making soaps for a long time. So my question is why would he need funding for it?

9. Meat Soap

Bacon scented soap

If the last Zombie soap was not stupid enough for you, I think this one will do the job. The creators of this campaign needs help in creating a soap which will give you the scent of a bacon. Of course the bacon smell is good, but having that on your body as a scent is plain weird if you ask me. Smelling like meat, eww.

10. Grilled Cheesus

This one needed funding to create an electronic sandwich press that toasts the face of Jesus onto your sandwich bread! Most religious people would fall for everything that has face of their God on it. But this is a bit on the extreme side of it, don’t you think? I mean after making a sandwich, what would you do other than eating it? So essentially eating your own God, I don’t understand people sometimes.

So that’s it for the day. Have you ever noticed a Kickstarter campaign more weird and stupid than this? Let us know by commenting below. Also like always make sure you share this with your friends!
